IMPORTANT NOTE: THE EXHIBITION AT THE MENIER GALLERY LONDON ON DEC 14th - 18th HAS BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL LATER IN 2010
Oliver Faulkner
We are very sad to say that Oliver, the very first person to be photographed for Gifts of Life, ran out of time waiting for his new kidney on October 6th 2009. This was devastating news as no-one should have to die for want of a kidney. Please sign the donor register for Ollie.

The Menier Gallery, London
The day after Oliver's photo shoot, Sarah and Holly went to look at the Menier Gallery in London where Gifts of Life will be launched. The exhibition opens on December 14th and runs in London until 19th, before commencing a UK tour in 2010. We loved the gallery space and can imagine how it will look with big, powerful images of our wonderful Gifts of Life participants up on the walls.
March 2009 - 'Gifts of Life' is launched
The aim of the project will be to capture in photography the social emotional impact of waiting for the gift of life a transplant brings, having had received such a gift and the impact of having lost a loved one when the gift was never received in time.
Most of the photos will be taken during June and July 2009. Photos will be processed in August and September and the exhibition will be launched in December to coincide with Christmas and the theme of a gift. Once the exhibtion has been created it can be put on wherever and whenever there is an opportunity. A book containing the images, the stories behind them and the story behind the exhibition will accompany the exhibition.
I am currently recruiting people to take part and be photograhed. If you have received a transplant, are waiting for one or have lost a family member or friend while waiting for a transplant and are willing to take part, please get in touch with me through the contact page on this website.
